next shikaku
About This Spot
Nestled in the bustling heart of Osaka’s Chuo Ward, next shikaku is a ramen haven where the familiar hum of the city softens against the warm embrace of an intimate, contemporary space. From the moment you step inside, there’s a quiet elegance in the air — low lighting, tasteful decor, and subtle music create a setting that invites you to slow down and savor the moment.
The rhythm here is unhurried yet purposeful. Diners line up not just for a meal but for an experience that feels thoughtfully crafted from start to finish. Rather than a typical ramen shop’s loud rush, next shikaku feels like a small retreat where each bowl is a delicate unfolding of flavors and care. There’s a reassuring human element too — attentive, genuine staff who quietly elevate the experience beyond the food itself.
The heart of next shikaku lies in its oyster-forward menu, an intriguing departure from Osaka’s usual ramen landscape. Here, the broth tells a story — layered with the sea’s quiet depth, rich and creamy but with a bracing edge that lingers softly on the palate. It’s a dish to be slowly explored, spoonful by spoonful, revealing nuance after nuance. Alongside the ramen, small shared bites like melt-in-your-mouth fried oysters or carefully seared meat sushi feel like the perfect companions, enhancing the sense of discovery with each bite.
In this space, every detail — from the hand-crafted noodles to the careful plating and even the spoon tucked away individually for each guest — speaks of a chef’s quiet joy in their craft. The atmosphere encourages a gathering of friends or a thoughtful solo visit, where the focus is as much on connection and warmth as it is on the profound flavors presented.
Next shikaku feels less like a restaurant and more like a place where the ocean’s essence has been carefully invited ashore, quietly shared with those who come seeking something different, something memorable, and quietly extraordinary.

Osaka's Oyster Ramen Oasis Next Shikaku in Osaka offers a unique and refreshing alternative to the typical tonkatsu ramen scene. Their oyster ramen is a revelation – the broth is rich, complex, and bursting with umami flavor. It's a truly unforgettable taste experience that will leave you craving more. Don't miss their melt-in-your-mouth fried oysters, a perfect complement to the ramen. And if you're feeling adventurous, their chicken wings are a surprisingly delicious addition to the meal. Whether you're a ramen aficionado or simply looking for a new culinary adventure, Next Shikaku is a must-visit destination in Osaka.

Mind blowing oyster based creamy broth! Queue at around 7.30pm is 30min long. The soup is amazing but I just wish there's an option to add soup, i ran out of soup halfway while eating my noodles. Meat sushi is splendid.

This ramen spot has a cool, modern vibe with a dark, cozy interior. There were about 15-20 seats in total. Our group waited for about 15 minutes, and you purchased your meal ticket from a machine while waiting for a table, which made the process smooth and efficient. You can choose between M or L size bowls, which is a nice option depending on your appetite. I went with the oyster/chicken broth based ramen, and it had a surprisingly rich, flavorful oyster taste that really stood out. Once seated, the service was quick and the ramen came out hot and satisfying.

Very delicious ramen, probably the best I’ve ever tasted! And the ramen cook is a woman! Very seldom to see that, which is a plus point! The best part is, the staff is very caring and respectful, after we finish our food and left, they chase out to bow with us and say thank you. I felt embarrassed because they’re too polite!

This is my first time trying oyster ramen and what a surprising experience it was! From service to plating to taste, everything was immaculate. The staff seem young too but there's a sense of pride in what they do. The ambience surprised me the most. There was soft music, classy decor and even how the spoon and cutlery were kept in a drawer. It's one spoon in a drawer though. Each person was seated in front of one drawer. I imagine they would have to keep replacing after every person. The cup was a metal one. Everything screamed class in a ramen shop! The Tsukemen might be my favourite tsukemen I ever had. Let me explain. Most tsukemen dipping broth is very salty. This was still salty but the use of the wide noodles is smart. I dipped the noodles folded. This means the inside has no sauce. When you eat the noodles like this, there is a perfect balance and it isn't too salty like that. I think it's smart to use this wide noodles. The oyster broth for the ramen is rich but not fishy which is important. There was also an oyster in the bowl that was cooked perfectly and not rubbery. Love the flavour! The beef sushi that came with the set is nice as well. The meat is gently seared probably with blowtorch. It's soft and there's more meat than rice!

This is a pretty unique ramen place where the broth has oyster in it. It has a very mild briny flavour so it's actually quite pleasant. Both the dipping and normal ramen noodles are nice and chewy. The dipping ramen is unique in that is very wide. The interior is also quite interesting, so it's definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled into this place on a rainy day, and it turned out to be a total blessing. I ordered their oyster ramen, and OMG it was delicious. It is such a unique dish; I’ve honestly never had anything like it before. The soup base was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of oyster taste. It came with pork and oyster toppings that were perfectly cooked, and the plating was beautiful. A definite 10/10 experience. Such a hidden gem and totally underrated. (Bonus points: the chef is very handsome too!)

The oyster ramen is very delicious. The soup is special with onion. Wagyu sushi is yummy. I waited around 20 minutes. It’s worth to wait. Highly recommend to try this ramen restaurant
